All hail Lord Dagon, the Exalted and Most Puissant Lord, Gerent of Dagon, Mehrunes! He who is the fire and the flood, the lightning and the thunder, the Father of Cataclysm and the Sovereign of Destruction. Lord Dagon's reach knows no limits, His power no bounds, and His plans no end. He who will deny His inevitability shall fall as made from sand.
Mehrunes Dagon is the Daedric Prince of Darkness and Destruction, whose sphere encompasses destruction, change, revolution, energy, and ambition.[1] The Lord of Fire and Flood has been associated with earthquakes, landslides, and other natural disasters as well. He is change and revolution in its purest form. Mortals and Daedra alike worship the Fire-Veined God for his unshakeable power, and all-encompassing wisdom. As his followers he gifts us free will, the understanding of cycles, and the knowledge of the true nature of the world as a crucible of eternal change.
Some would look upon Lord Dagon and say he is a god of suffering; this could not be further from the truth. Mehrunes Dagon, in all His dealings, has always strived to uplift mortality, to enlighten us to the true state of the world — or rather, how fleeting any "state" of being truly is. Destruction is the birth of many, rather than elimination. As forest fires return nutrients to the soil, and thunderstorms deliver life-giving water, so too do we as followers of Mehrunes Dagon see destruction for what it truly is: rebirth.
